Browser only

Runs locally in your browser. Your files, pasted content and generated output are not uploaded. Reset clears this tool’s working data.

How to use this tool

  • Choose up to 100 files totaling 20 MiB.
  • Enter the password. Creation requires at least 12 characters.
  • Process and download the ZIP. Keep the password separately; Reset clears working inputs.

Examples

Protect two local documents in an AES-256 ZIP that opens with the supplied password in an AES-compatible archive reader.

Limitations

  • Creation: 100 files, 16 MiB each, 20 MiB total and 24 MiB output. Unlocking: 20 MiB input, 1,000 entries, 16 MiB per file and 64 MiB expanded/output. Processing uses a cancellable local worker with a 120-second deadline.
  • Creation uses standard WinZip AES-256 AE-2 with authenticated contents. Filenames and sizes remain visible, and a strong unique password is important. Some built-in archive readers do not support AES ZIP.
  • Unlocking accepts WinZip AES and legacy ZipCrypto stored/DEFLATE entries. ZIP64, split/self-extracting archives, symbolic links, special files and unsafe or conflicting paths are rejected. Nested archives are not recursively expanded.
  • Passwords are supplied by you, never guessed or recovered. A wrong password, corrupt content or failed size/authentication check yields no partial output. Passwords are masked and excluded from generated files and reports.
  • Unlock output is unencrypted. Original timestamps and empty directory entries are omitted; supported regular-file names and contents are retained. Legacy ZipCrypto provides weak protection.
