How to use this tool

  • Paste the before and target JSON documents, or select one UTF-8 file for each; each file takes precedence over its corresponding text.
  • Generate the patch and download both complete artifacts.
  • Use the report to inspect the source differences associated with each operation.

Examples

Changing {"a":1} to {"a":2} produces a replace operation at /a.

Limitations

  • At most 1 MiB per input, 2 MiB combined, 100000 parsed nodes, 40 levels, 10000 differences and 1000 operations; 10 MiB combined output and 30 seconds.
  • Only add, remove and replace operations. Changed arrays use whole-array replacement; no shortest-patch, move or copy inference.
  • Numeric spellings such as 1 and 1.0 compare equal. A patch produces a semantically equivalent JSON value without preserving target formatting or object-key order.
