How to use this tool
- Choose one unencrypted standard Transitional XLSX using XLSX workbook.
- Select Inspect cell styles to inspect original style declarations and explicit references.
- Download cell-style-declarations.json. Use your spreadsheet application to view rendered formats or change the source workbook.
Examples
A cell with s="0" is listed with the raw index 0; a cell without s is omitted. A custom number format and xfId/apply flags remain original declarations.
Limitations
- Up to 20 MiB input, 64 MiB expanded package and 50 worksheet or chart-sheet tabs. Each inspected XML part: 8 MiB / 200,000 nodes. At most 20,000 style definition records, 100,000 emitted cell/row/column style records including customFormat-only rows, and 20 MiB UTF-8 JSON; 60-second worker deadline.
- The shared worksheet admission limits declared cell addresses to 50,000 rows and 500 columns. Metadata-only row and column style ranges may use full Excel coordinates (1,048,576 rows / 16,384 columns), without expanding them into cells. Standard Transitional XLSX only; encrypted, macro, signed, embedded-object and external-workbook-link packages are rejected.
- Array reference indexes, custom number-format references, style relationships and content types are validated. Format codes, colors, themes, conditional formats, table-style effects and effective cell appearance are not evaluated. No recalculation occurs.
- JSON retains parsed declaration values, nested XML and original index strings. A customFormat-only row has a null rawStyleIndex; recordCount includes it while referenceCount counts only explicit indexes. Entity spellings and comments are not retained in declarationXml; namespace bindings are supplied on styles.attributes. Chart-sheet tabs are listed as skipped. The source package is not rewritten.
