Limitations

  • New XLSX files contain displayed values as text. Formulas, formatting, charts, comments, hyperlinks and merged-cell layout are not copied. Preview shows at most 30 rows and 12 columns; downloads retain supported data.
  • Input must be UTF-8 CSV/TSV, an array of JSON/YAML records or regular XML records. Nested JSON/YAML values become JSON text. Macros and formulas are not created.
  • 20 MiB per workbook; 40 MiB total input/output; 1–50 sheets; at most 50,000 rows per sheet, 500 columns and 500,000 cells. UTF-8 text input is limited to 5 MiB and cells to 32,767 characters.
  • CSV/TSV exports prefix formula-like text with an apostrophe. JSON and YAML retain displayed cell text rather than inferring numeric/date types. XML uses the DTH named-field table mapping.
