PDF Visual Comparison

Compare rendered PDF pages and download marked pixel differences, overlays and a report.

PDF

ZIP, PNG, JSON

Browser only

Runs locally in your browser. Your files, pasted content and generated output are not uploaded. Reset clears this tool’s working data.

This tool needs JavaScript. If it does not load, refresh the page and try again.

How to use this tool

  • Choose two unencrypted local PDFs.
  • Optionally select pages from each file; selected pages are paired in their listed order.
  • Choose a rendering DPI and pixel tolerance. Select Compare PDF pages.
  • Inspect the first-pair preview, then download the ZIP containing every pair and the JSON report. Cancel or Reset stops local processing.

Examples

Compare a revised brochure with its previous version at 96 DPI and zero tolerance to locate changed text, images or layout.

Limitations

  • Up to 50 MiB per PDF, 100 MiB total input, 20 selected pages per file, 4 megapixels per pair, 50 megapixels total and 100 MiB output. Processing deadline: 120 seconds.
  • Rendering resolution is 36–150 DPI. No automatic alignment, scaling, OCR, semantic comparison or authenticity assessment. Small rendering differences can matter at zero tolerance.
  • Missing page area is white. Missing pages and differing rendered dimensions are explicitly reported even if the visible pixels match.
  • Supported saved static annotation appearances are included. XFA, form values without saved appearances and unsupported drawing features may not render; unsupported decode features fail without a partial result.
  • Files and generated output stay in the browser. A matching rendered image does not prove that underlying PDF bytes or hidden content match.
