How to use this tool
- Enter values using decimal points and choose the operation or assumptions shown.
- Select Calculate and review the numerical result and its stated conventions.
- Download the result or amortization schedule when available. Reset restores the example inputs.
Examples
Cost 80 with 25% markup gives price 100 and margin 20%.
Limitations
- Runs locally. Decimal calculations use floating-point arithmetic, rounded to 12 significant digits; monetary displays use two decimals. Exact integer and fraction results are labelled separately.
- Use one currency throughout. Estimates use your inputs and stated assumptions; fees, taxes, inflation and rate changes are excluded unless explicitly entered. These are calculations, not lending offers or investment forecasts.
- Markup divides gross profit by cost; margin divides by selling price. This is gross product margin before overhead. Target margin must be below 100%.
