How to use this tool
- Enter an outline or select one UTF-8 file, then choose its indentation convention.
- Select Convert outline and review node counts and hierarchy.
- Download nested-list.md and outline-structure-report.json.
Examples
Parent followed by two spaces and Child becomes a root bullet with one nested child.
Limitations
- At most 200000 UTF-16 units, 800000 UTF-8 bytes and 5 MiB combined output; 30 seconds. Select one UTF-8 file to replace paste, including an empty file. Files preserve CRLF/CR/LF; a native textarea normalizes line endings to LF.
- At most 10000 logical records, 65536 UTF-16 units per record and depth 20. Root depth must be zero; indentation cannot jump more than one level. Blank records, mixed or fractional indentation refuse. One terminal line delimiter is framing.
- Output uses two spaces per depth, bullet markers and LF line endings with a final LF. Body text remains Markdown syntax; it is not escaped for literal rendered text. No HTML preview or reverse conversion.
