How to use this tool
- Choose an EML or ordinary MSG file from your device.
- Select the reading-copy format and whether to include attachment downloads.
- Choose Read email file and review the inert preview and unverified header information.
- Download the reading copy or individual original attachments. Reset clears the file and outputs.
Examples
Open a saved invoice email, read its subject and message text, and download the original invoice attachment.
Limitations
- One file up to 8 MiB; each decoded text, HTML or RTF body is limited to 1 MiB. EML: 150,000 lines, 256 KiB per line, 512 possible MIME boundary lines, MIME depth 32 and 128 KiB total headers.
- Up to 100 attachments, 4 MiB each and 8 MiB in total. Nested RFC email messages remain separate attachments and are not recursively inspected. Binary NUL bytes in raw EML are unsupported; use MIME-encoded attachments.
- Sender identities, headers and signatures are unverified. DKIM, S/MIME and PGP are not validated; encrypted message bodies, PST mailboxes and account integration are unsupported.
- Reading copies omit remote images, URLs, scripts, original CSS/layout and attachment contents. Original attachments are copied unchanged and are not scanned or executed.
- PDF is text reflow with embedded Noto Sans for Latin, Greek and Cyrillic. Unsupported characters are rejected. No faithful Outlook layout claim. Processing stops after 60 seconds and output is limited to 24 MiB.
- MSG ordinary mail only: stored text/HTML and by-value attachments. Up to 1,000 compound entries, storage depth 32, 2 MiB allocation metadata, 4 MiB per stream and 8 MiB total streams. Supported declared legacy codepages only. Calendar/contact/task items are rejected; embedded, linked and OLE attachments are omitted with a report. Named properties are not interpreted.
- MSG RTF is CRC/size checked, decoded to at most 1 MiB and offered as a separate unrendered download when attachment downloads are enabled. RTF-only messages show a missing-body notice; RTF commands, objects and layout are not interpreted.
