How to use this tool
- Paste CSV input or choose a CSV file; select Input and output delimiter.
- Set Numeric column by one-based position and choose a unique nonempty Running-total output header.
- Review Protect spreadsheet formulas, select Add running totals, then download running-totals.csv.
Examples
Amounts 0.1, 0.2 and -2.8 produce running totals 0.1, 0.3 and -2.5.
Limitations
- Up to 5 MiB input, 50,000 data rows, 500 output columns and 500,000 cells including the appended column/header; 20 MiB output and a 30-second worker limit.
- Each numeric value needs an optional sign, 1-18 total digits and at most six fractional digits. Blanks, spaces, exponents, locale separators, NaN and Infinity are rejected. The scaled accumulator is capped at 32 digits.
- Only generated totals normalize trailing fractional zeros and signed zero. No rounding, sorting, group resets or average calculation.
- Original untrusted fields and headers follow the default-on formula policy; generated signed decimal totals remain numeric text. Output headers must stay unique after protection.
- A chosen UTF-8 file takes precedence. Pasted line endings normalize to LF; the selected delimiter is used in the downloaded .csv file.
