How to use this tool
- Paste CSV or choose a file, which takes precedence. Choose Input delimiter.
- Select the one-based Category column, New code header and Protect spreadsheet formulas setting.
- Select Encode labels and download labeled.csv plus label-map.json.
Examples
For categories A, empty, B, A, appended codes are 0,1,2,0; the map retains all three exact original category values.
Limitations
- 5 MiB input, 50,000 data rows, 500 output columns, 500,000 output cells including header and 20 MiB combined CSV/map output; 30-second worker limit.
- Default-on spreadsheet protection applies once to CSV originals and the appended header. Mapping values remain original; protected CSV cells may serialize differently.
- No custom or sorted codebook, training model, unknown-category inference or case/whitespace folding.
