How to use this tool

  • Enter Base color (backdrop) and Blend color (source). Both must be opaque numeric colors.
  • Choose Blend mode and select Calculate blended color. Overlay branches on the base channel, so swapping the inputs can change its result.
  • Select Download result to save color-blend.json with normalized inputs, the result and the rounding/color-space declaration.

Examples

Base #4080c0 and blend #c04080 produce Overlay #6041c0. Reversing those colors produces #a140c0.

Limitations

  • At most 300 UTF-16 units per input, 64 KiB JSON and 30 seconds. Names, variables, unsupported expressions and nonopaque alpha are errors.
  • Only Multiply, Screen, Overlay and Difference on encoded sRGB 8-bit channels are implemented. Final channels use nearest-integer half-up rounding.
  • No alpha compositing, image layers, linear-light color management or Photoshop/document-profile parity is claimed.
