How to use this tool

  • Set Frequency (Hz), Duration (seconds), Sample rate (Hz) and Peak amplitude.
  • Keep frequency strictly below half the selected sample rate; amplitude 0 produces silence.
  • Select Generate tone and download sine-tone.wav.
  • Use external playback controls at an appropriate level when listening; the file's amplitude is a digital sample level, not a calibrated loudness.

Examples

1,000 Hz, 0.128 seconds, 8,000 Hz sample rate and 0.5 peak amplitude produce 1,024 mono PCM samples.

Limitations

  • Frequency: 1–20,000 Hz and strictly below the Nyquist frequency. Duration: 0.01–300 seconds, rounded to the nearest whole sample; amplitude: 0–1.
  • Supported sample rates: 8,000, 16,000, 22,050, 44,100, 48,000 and 96,000 Hz. At most 32 million samples and 64 MiB output; worker deadline: 120 seconds.
  • Sine wave only, mono, 16-bit PCM WAV. No noise generation, sweep, multi-tone mixing, recording or compressed audio encoding.
  • No fades or automatic playback are added; abrupt boundaries can click. This provides no calibrated sound-pressure level or hearing test.
